- LLMs/Transformer [LLMs/トランスフォーマー]: 可変長の入力を可変長の出力に変換する形の機械学習が2014年に深層学習で生み出され、この形の機械学習はその後、非常に大きく発展しました. 機械翻訳, 質問応答, ニューラル会話, 画像キャプションづけ, 言葉に基づいた画像生成などのNLPに関係する分野のみならず, ビジョンではトランスフォーマーをベースに, 画像認識, 物体検知, パノプティックセグメンテーション, 画像言語ナビゲーション, マルチモダル学習など多岐に影響を及ぼしました. (表現学習) ここでエンコードしたものを表現と呼び, 深層学習での学習の中心となります.
- Generative AI Models(diffusion model, GAN) [生成モデル(敵対的生成ネットワーク/GAN, 拡散モデル)]: 同時期(2014年頃)に, (動)画像、自然言語、信号などさまざまな生成を行える学習器を開発されました. これは, 白黒画像のカラー化, 2D画像の3D化(動きからの構造: シェイプ再構築、テクスチャ再構築), 超解像度, 動画フレーム補完など多岐に渡る影響を及ぼしました。
- (機械学習的な方向)自己教師あり学習, 因果関係に関係する学習, 物理に関係する学習(NODE(ニューラルODE), ハミルトニアンNNなど)などにも興味をもっています.
- LLMなどの大規模化のためには、量子化/並列化などが必要となります. また, インストラクションチューニングにより, 後続タスク側の興味も考慮します.

- 「深層学習のアルゴリズム開発」と「関心のある応用事例」をセットで考えてください. たとえば、トランスフォーマーで医療画像を研究する、ビジョントランスフォーマーで行動認識をする, GANでマンガを研究する, などです.
大北研究室での研究内容
- 深層学習(特に, 敵対的生成ネットワークとトランスフォーマー. 量子機械学習も)のアルゴリズム開発に関心をもっております。学習の基本構造に興味をもっている人、深層学習を勉強したい人を募集しています。
- 深層学習は, 医療画像, ビデオ, スマホセンサなどのメディア関係を直接扱いますので、同時に適用する分野を扱います。たとえば、トランスフォーマーは自然言語を対象にすることが可能です。また、ビジョンのトランスフォーマーであれば、映像を扱うかもしれません。
